Purpose of the role
Designing systems within the process industry according to standards and norms. The Plant Engineer possesses significant knowledge through education and/or experience in plant layouts, equipment design, piping systems, process controls, and instrumentation. As well as basic knowledge of steel structures and civil constructions. Occasionally involves strength and process-related calculations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or HBO/WO level of thinking with relevant work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Junior Mechanical Engineer or similar role.
- Languages: Good oral and written proficiency in English.
- Safety: OSHA 10 hour course
- Other: Good communication skills.
- Structured approach.
- Solid technical knowledge.
- Solution-oriented and innovative.
Software: AutoCAD and Plant 3D and Occasionally Inventor, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Tasks and Responsibilities
- The general description of the role, but not limited to, includes the following:
- Responsible for technical design and its feasibility;
- Responsible for the implementation of the relevant regulations and standards;
- Responsible for the implementation of process design in the system design;
- Creation of models, drawings, and other technical documentation.
- P&ID’s
- Engineering Lists
- Site Layouts
- Creation of Equipment GA’s based on process input.
- Design and verification of interfaces.
- Application of selected MOC.
- Design of piping systems.
- Basic design of steel and civil constructions
Place in the organization
Reports directly to and is accountable to the Lead Mechanical Engineer. In terms of content, the role reports to the Project Engineer and Project Manager.
